Like many others that grew up during the 80′s, I too was fascinated with Star Wars, the Atari 2600, and Transformers cartoons. So much so in fact, that I was perpetually curious about how the imaginative oracles responsible for those gems, produced the magic of my younger years. At that age, some kids wanted to be a fireman, a doctor, or perhaps a marine biologist. Me? I just wanted to create “cool stuff”.

As time went on, my fascination for media and how stuff worked became paramount. I would like to say that my parents were always supportive when it came to my creative endeavors, but disassembling numerous electronic devices (in order to find out how they worked), and barrages of incessant, often unanswerable technical questions, quickly depleted their supportive parent thresholds. Ultimately, it was Grandpa, with a damp garage filled with tools and years of construction know-how that taught me that if I worked hard enough, I could probably figure out anything.

Twenty years and two college degrees later, I’m still extremely fascinated with media, technology, and how stuff works. Whether it be programming a web application, writing a narrative, developing a video game, or producing a short film, I strive to broaden my capabilities by indulging my creative side whenever possible. It’s my hope, that through future employment, I’ll be provided with opportunities to continue creating my own cool stuff, much like the media that captivated me so long ago.
